British Council in collaboration with FEMRITE and Writivism held a Creative’s meet on Thursday 17th May 2018 at the Innovation Village, Ntinda Complex. This involved a literary conversation with participants from the Creative Enterprise Programme that took place in Kampala run by the British Council in partnership with Nesta, UK. The participants in the program included Publishers, Editors, and Writers from Ethiopia, Kenya, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda.
Panelists for the Creative’s meet event included Doreen Baingana, Executive Director of Mawazo and member of FEMRITE, Julius Ocwinyo, author and Editor, Fountain publishers, Maskram Haile, author from Ethiopia, and Byagaba Roland, Writivism representative. The moderator was Danson Kahyana, Lecturer, Makerere University. Panelists discussed the current trends in writing, editing, and publishing in East Africa.
